Area Attractions

The Potomac Highlands offer a variety of interesting attractions. Three excursion railroads operate in the region each with something different to offer, all including breath-taking views. Four wineries are located in the area and all offer tours and wine tasting. Historical sites include Indian burial mounds, civil war battlefields, and each small town or bigger city seems to have its own exciting story. In Green Bank, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory features the world's largest fully steerable radio telescope. Several area caverns are open to the public for guided tours.
